  1. Cotillard at #1!!!!!

So much love here, from Gleeson to Gugu to O'Connell to Mendelson to Fiennes!!! Lead Actress was really strong this year. I see a lot of performances that I haven't even seen yet (Huppert, Vacth, Chastain) and they ranked so high and two of them didn't even make your ballot.

  2. Love this picks. Good call on Huppert. I wasn't a fan of that film but she's great in it.

    1. Thanks. Huppert was so good in that. I liked the film more than you did, though.

    1. Thanks! Cotillard and Knightley are wonderful in those films. I wish the latter had received more notice. Still, I guess I can't complain, since they both received Oscar nods. :)

    1. So glad to hear that. I've always loved her work, which tends to be overlooked most of the time.

    1. Thrilled to know you're a fan of performances like Mia Wasikowska in Only Lovers Left Alive and Philip Seymour Hoffman in A Most Wanted Man. They were criminally overlooked this past awards season.

  8. Marion Cotillard can really do no wrong, so I'm not surprised to see her listed at number one. I really need to see this one.

  9. Yes! LOVE that you recognized Sienna Miller here. She was amazing in that film. Great call on Vacth, what confident work. Also thrilled that Chastain makes the Top 5. I’ll always love Eleanor Rigby.

    1. Miller - now a 2-time CinSpec nominee - is so great in AS. I wish she could've received a surprise Oscar nod. Vacth and Huppert were SO GOOD. My Best Actress category was stacked. Chastain is amazing in Eleanor Rigby, which I really wanted to include in more categories at the CinSpecs.
