Movie Song of the Week

It’s summertime, so here’s a fun track from a trashy teen comedy. If you haven’t seen Eurotrip, Matt Damon has a brilliant cameo as a band's lead singer with a shaved head, and he sings (lip-syncs) this original song as an insult to the protagonist, Scotty. It’s an unconventional choice, but I’d argue it deserved awards consideration that year. From Eurotrip, here’s “Scotty Doesn’t Know”.

  1. Scotty doesn't know that Fiona and me doin' in my van every Sunday.

Matt Damon's greatest cameo. He's so fucking hilarious in this film.

    1. Damon is awesome in that cameo. That movie is much more memorable because of that scene.

    1. It's great that Damon went for it in this tiny role. Too bad the song was ignored by every awards body.

  4. Very catchy tune from a very funny film. It certainly would've been interesting to see it get awards consideration. It's more memorable than most of the songs that were actually nominated that year. They can be so PC sometimes.

    1. Yeah, for every South Park nomination there are three nominations for Enchanted. Still, the music branch does make some interesting choices sometimes.

  5. Ahah, I didn't even know Damon had a cameo in Eurotrip! Btw, looking at your banner for this series, I'm finally gonna see ONCE soon as my friend is lending me his dvd. It's funny because I was recommending BEGIN AGAIN to him & in turn he recommended Once, ahah.
