5 Favorite Robin Williams Moments

Robin Williams' passing is a crushing blow. The man was one of the funniest men alive, and his acting talents were enormous. With unyielding energy, he was engaging in both comedic and dramatic roles, which is rare and often overlooked. He's gone too soon, and it's going to be tough watching his work from now on. Still, his lighter material will remain just as warm and funny as he was.

Here's a quick look at five of my favorite Robin Williams moments. Three are from his films, while the other two are related to movies and/or acting. I could've listed WAY more, but these five clips are what I love most about the late Robin Williams.

Good Morning, Vietnam

As Adrian Cronauer, Robin's first radio appearance is classic.

Critics' Choice Awards

When Robin lost Best Actor at the 8th Critics' Choice Awards, hilarity ensued.

Good Will Hunting

This moment has always felt so honest to me. Bravo, sir.

Inside the Actors Studio

Robin's brilliant piece of improvisation never fails to make me laugh.

Mrs. Doubtfire

This film was a big part of my childhood, and Robin doing voices is a delight.

  2. Great post! I am older than you -- I grew up on Mork and Mindy. Later he developed a tremendous career in film. Like you I appreciate his ability to handle both comedic and dramatic roles.

    1. Thanks! I've never seen an episode of Mork and Mindy. Now I kind of want to check it out.

    2. I'm thinking about ordering the Box Set off Amazon today, that is, if there is a Box Set (crosses fingers and prays to god).

  5. Love that Critics' Choice moment. Was there anyone who was consistently better off the cuff? Reminds me when he leapt to the stage during the Golden Globes, when Christine Lahti was in the bathroom. Hilarious. I'm so saddened by this loss.

    1. He was so electric as an entertainer, and truly gifted as an improviser. This loss is heartbreaking.

  6. You're so right Josh, we will feel a tinge of sadness whilst watching his films now... but he's brought so much joy and laughter to people's lives. I LOVE him since Dead Poets Society and I count Mrs Doubtfire as one of my all time fave comedies ever. It's hilarious but also full of heart, just like Mr. Williams himself.
