Duffy leads with 6 noms. |
Here are my 2008 music awards, which will be my last old ballot this year, since I'll be finishing off 2016 for next month. Note: One nominee is actually an unreleased song, which premiered in live performances this year. Since it’s one of my favorites (and a high-quality version is available on YouTube), I ruled it eligible. As always, you can click on the images to enlarge them.
I''m just gonna go ahead and recommend my favorite band Poets of the Fall and any album they released since their first one for your awards, they're seriously an amazing band! Also holy hell I didn't know Adele was around for that long xD
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'll check them out!

I don't even know where to begin! I love that I thought I had this year all figured out and then you throw albums at me I haven't listened to and I'm right back to trying to fill my ears with one of the greatest years in music ever!!!
But...Destroyer, Steel Train, Sex on Fire!, Crystal Castles, Santigold, Bon Iver!!! I'm in love right now!
YAY! Hope you love what you hear, buddy! :)
DeleteUgh, Bon Iver was THIS close to making my New Artist lineup. But he's on track to do well for 22, A Million this year.
I love your picks! My friend threw an absolute shit fit over Adele winning the Best New Artist Grammy over Duffy. Now I think of that memory every time I see her name.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Lol, it's kind of weird, given that Rockferry won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album and 19 wasn't even nominated. :/
DeleteI didn't follow music closely in 2008. We can agree Bleeding Love is one of Leona Lewis' best songs. What happened to her?
ReplyDeleteMy most-listened-to album of 2008 is probably Seventh Tree by Goldfrapp
I caught up with a lot of stuff for this year. Lewis is destined to be a one-hit wonder, I guess.
DeleteSeventh Tree isn't my favorite Gsldfrapp album, but I'm glad I could nom them for "A&E" at least. :)
