June Oscar Predictions

Can Before Midnight pull off a Best Picture nomination?

These are quite similar to my May predictions, except that I now have Before Midnight doing better, and my faith has been restored in The Counselor and The Wolf of Wall Street. Of course, most of these are still up in the air. Here's what I'm thinking at the moment. (Changes from May's predictions included.)

  1. I would put Before Midnight in the Best Adapted Screenplay category while I would also give The Bling Ring for Best Cinematography and (maybe) Best Costume Design.

  3. Oh having read script I really don't think Cruz will get in for Consuelor, she really is quite useless there, more of a plot device than actual character. Diaz's role is the exact opposite of that, though - I hope she nails that one.

    1. Really? I'll keep that in mind when I update my predictions again then. Best Supporting Actress is usually a weak category at this stage, so I'm struggling to find a decent lineup to predict.
