2001: A Space Odyssey wasn't even nominated? Jesus! Wonderful choices here, much better than the ones Academy made :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks. To be fair, I did agree with them on two picks. ;)
DeleteI've heard some amazing things about the visuals of 8-1/2. I'm surprised that wasn't nominated! These are some amazing picks, Josh!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ruth! 8 1/2 has wonderful visuals. You should check it out. It was actually my favorite film at one point, but I didn't love it as much the last time I saw it. Still, it's a great film.
Delete8 1/2 is stunning, especially that opening sequence, but Hud is a great choice by the Academy (and the best film of the year too!) so I'm torn. I'd probably wind up settling on 8 1/2 in the end, but it would be a close one.
DeleteHud's cinematography is great, but I can't remember any breathtaking shots. And I just watched the film two weeks ago. 8 1/2 is far more memorable for me.
DeletePierrot le Fou, hands down in 65 and possibly the best of the decade!
ReplyDeleteHehe, but your picks are, overall, stunning :-D
Thanks. I haven't seen Pierrot le Fou yet, so it can still become the winner. ;)
DeleteOh god...see it!
DeleteI will. I promise. :)
Deleteclassic, classic, classic, classic....get the point? ( :
ReplyDeleteHaha, indeed. :)
DeletePsycho – YES! Three Bergman’s, 8 ½, 2001 – good Christ, the ‘60s were gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYeah. The three Bergmans are my favorites.
