This week I’ve gone with an original song from 2007’s underrated gem Grace is Gone, which features one of John Cusack’s best performances. In the film, Cusack plays a widower trying to raise his young daughters after their mother is killed in the Iraq war. The song, penned by Clint Eastwood and Carole Bayer Sager, did manage a Golden Globe nomination and a Satellite Award win, but it’s been largely forgotten. Performed by Jamie Cullum, here’s “Grace is Gone”.

Thanks, Michael!
DeleteOooh this is such a beautiful song. I LOVE Jamie's voice, nice pick Josh!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I wish Cullum would do more work in film. He should team up with Eastwood again.
DeleteNever saw Grace is Gone, but if it's one of Cusack’s best, I'm definitely going to have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteOh, you should definitely give it a look. I wish Cusack had received some more notice that year, but it was insanely crowded.
