  2. Michael Angarano! I've seen most of the movies and I agree with every one of them. Glad you included Jesse Eisenberg too. End of the Tour was so underrated.

    1. Eisenberg is brilliant in The End of the Tour. I'd argue it's his best performance yet.

  3. Haven't seen a lot of these yet, but the ones I have are excellent. Can't wait to see the rest of the list.

  4. Is it bad my num 1 for last year is actually from a video game? XD

    1. That's an interesting choice. I wouldn't consider a video game performance eligible, but that's me.

  5. You know I still have a few to see (a lot to see), but Ruffalo, Byrne, Elba, Isaac, Statham, Hardy, Theron...YES, YES, YES!

I also rewatched Room last night (not sure why I did that to myself) and Larson is stronger than I remember...and may actually sneak into my ballot...maybe...possibly...not sure yet but she moved me much more upon a second viewing.

And Tremblay may be my winner now.

    UGH.

    1. Glad you love those picks, buddy! Though Larson is terrific in most of her scenes, her performance dips a bit in the second half of the film. I'd give her a strong 4/5, but she's close to a 4.5.

  6. I love how you have Jack O'Connell and Brie Larson near each other. They're the best actor and actress of their generation, respectively.

    1. I wouldn't go that far for Larson, but O'Connell is in the mix. His performance in Starred Up is phenomenal, and it was better than ANY of the Oscar-winning performances in the last two years.

    2. It was especially better than every performance that has won Best Actor this decade.

    3. Though I adore Jean Dujardin's performance in The Artist, I totally agree.
