ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael!
DeleteLove this post! I'm shocked at some of these omissions, and yet others I hadn't head till today. That Kissing You snub is so weird and so horrid, and even more than that...the whole soundtrack is full of awesomeness and really could have filled the entire ballot. I mean, Garbage and Everclear had great tracks for the album too.
ReplyDeleteThanks man! Yeah, the Kissing You snub really sticks out. I forgot about the other original R+J tracks. I need to go back and listen to them.
DeleteOh, I'm so with you on "In Too Deep" as I think it was used to great effect in that film.
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree with that pick. I think the film is actually better because of that song.
DeleteOustanding work. Extra kudos on the Anthony Hamilton and Public Enemy love.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I actually would've put Public Enemy on there for "Fight the Power" as well, but I thought it was too obvious.
DeleteThese are awesome! Tom Waits's songs are always a welcome addition in movies.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Couldn't agree more. :)
DeleteGreat picks, there are some films I haven't seen yet but I LOVE "Kissing You" from Romeo + Juliet, such a perfect song for the scene. I'm thrilled you included the Lara Fabian's "For Always", that's one of my fave songs, such a beautiful ballad!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ruth! So glad to see that you love "For Always" as well. That track is very underrated!
