Will Scorsese's Silence crash this year's Oscar race? |
It appears that Scorsese's passion project Silence might be on the 2015 slate, so I've added it to my predictions across the board. Still, I've little confidence in some of these picks. I'm sure we're in for a surprise contender or two in a few months.

It looks like Scorsese has a good chance for an Oscar.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see, but you might be right. Still, I'm skeptical about these kinds of movies at the Oscars these days. I wonder if Bridge of Spies could be this year's Argo.
DeleteThis year is starting to look exciting! I really hope Silence comes out this year, mainly because I really want to see it!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm always excited for a new Scorsese film, and this one looks like it could get a ton of noms.
DeleteHardy being nominated would be awesome....is he playing a villain or something?
ReplyDeleteFrom what little I know, I think Hardy is the main villain. I can't wait to see the movie!!
DeleteFrom what I read, his role is SAVAGE and quite the scene stealer.
DeleteWhich is why I predicted he'll win a CinSpec this year. ;)
DeleteAlmost all of our Best Director predictions are identical. Instead of Scorsese, I have O. Russell. I also have Alicia Vikander for Danish Girl, but in Supporting. While I am sure she is great in that, it would be amazing if she were a contender for Ex Machina.
ReplyDeleteRussell could happen, as could Vikander in Supporting. I'd love for her to get some recognition for Ex Machina, but I doubt it will happen.
