Ingrid Bergman is in two of my favorite classes. |
I've compiled a list of my favorite groups of personal acting winners by year. These are essentially based on each individual performance and how it compares the rest of the "class" of that year, though making this list wasn't an exact science. It was hard to narrow it down to ten, but here are my favorites right now.
Note: Names rotate clockwise in the photos.

(Bogart, Bergman, Coburn, Baxter)
9. 2006

7. 1940
(Grant, Leigh, Morgan, Hussey)
6. 1958

Thank you for that list!! Would you include it in your future acting classes posts? Oooh totally agree w/ It's a Wonderful Life. Boy I still need to see Three Colors, esp since I love Binoche too. Speaking of Binoche, stay tuned for my review of 'Clouds of Sils Maria.'
DeleteNo problem! I can include it, but I'm not planning anymore acting classes posts at the moment. Oh, Binoche is amazing! :)
DeleteYesssss love these lineups! Great number one. Also, our 1993 lineup is almost the same, except I have Hunter for The Piano instead of Binoche, but Binoche is perfect in Blue.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Oh, Hunter is excellent in The Piano. I love that she's your winner.
Delete1940, 1958 and 2014 are delicious!
ReplyDeleteLove that you're doing this, bro. Such fun.
Ranking these was a nightmare, but it was fun trying. Like, 1940, 1958 and 2014 could easily be higher. :)
DeleteI need to see The Grifters, I keep seeing praise for it in the blogosphere :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the comments, Chris! :)
DeleteYou should definitely check out The Grifters. It's a fun movie with great performances from Anjelica Huston and Annette Bening.
