Downbeat describes the tone of the film, but I didn't mean to make it seem like a bad thing. I loved it - totally understand the negative reaction though. Affleck (ugh, where ARE awards voters?) and Saldana are the standouts, but Bale was on point, for sure. OOTF and The Hunt currently crack my top 10, which is changing almost daily. Check AW for a ballot update. ;)
Oooh I can't wait to check out FROZEN! Magical eh, well that's awesome to hear as the trailer didn't wow me but I do adore Tangled. And 'riveting' is the perfect word to describe The Hunt!
The Hunt is one of my favorite films of the year. :) If you like Tangled, I think you'll enjoy Frozen. I wasn't a big fan of the former, but I really like the latter.
The Hunt is in my top 10 as well. I've heard Out of the Furnace compared to the atmosphere of The Place Beyond the Pines(my #1 of 2013), so maybe that's a sign that I'd like Scott Cooper's film?
I want to know all your thoughts on Out of the Furnace. Downbeat makes it sound like a bad thing. Was Affleck what you wanted him to be?
ReplyDeleteI'm getting The Hunt in the mail today, but I won't be watching it till next week.

That's it exactly. Out of the Furnace and The Place Beyond the Pines would make a great double feature. Both are in my current top 10 actually.
