Ranking the Sherlock Episodes

Cumberbatch and Freeman as Holmes and Watson.

In honor of Star Trek Into Darkness' release in a few days, here's a post related to Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the villain in J.J Abrams' new film. Though this is a TV series, each episode is really a 90-minute film for television, so I don't mind bending the rules.

6. "The Blind Banker" (Season 1, Episode 2)

The duo take on the Black Lotus, a secret criminal organization operating out of China.

5. "The Hound of Baskerville" (Season 2, Episode 2)

The ghost of a hound is haunting a man, and the pair investigates these strange occurrences.

4. "A Study in Pink" (Season 1, Episode 1)

Holmes and Watson meet for the first time, and they team up to solve a series of mysterious suicides.

3. "A Scandal in Belgravia" (Season 2, Episode 1)

Irene Adler leads Sherlock and Watson on a merry chase, leaving her mark in the process.

2. "The Reichenbach Fall" (Season 2, Episode 3)

Sherlock's world crumbles at the hands of Moriarty's devious plan.

1. "The Great Game" (Season 1, Episode 3)

Moriarty makes the duo solve various cases, testing Sherlock's detecting abilities.

Bring on Season 3 in late 2013 or early 2014!

    1. Nice. Love that our top 3 are the same, only in a different order.

  2. I love Sherlock. I think A Scandal in Belgravia has to be my favorite just for this exchange between Sherlock and Mycroft: "Don't be alarmed, it has to do with sex." "Sex doesn't alarm me." "How would you know?"

  3. I still haven't seen the last episode of the 2nd season yet but out of all I've seen, the "A Scandal in Belgravia" is the most memorable one for me. Lara Pulver is brilliant as Irene Adler, Sherlock definitely met his match in her! :D

    1. Ooh, it's great season finale. And "Scandal" is a great episode, no doubt. Love the chemistry between Sherlock and Irene.

    2. I might watch that finale this weekend. Sooo impressed w/ Benedict in Star Trek Into Darkness! He's even hunkier than in Sherlock, and I think we should have him perpetually dressed in long trench coat!
