2015 CinSpec Awards

Hi guys. I can't believe I haven't even posted ten times this year. It's the Friday before Christmas, and I'm posting this on a whim. I actually think I'm going to be more active next year, which is as soon as the Monday after next. I'll have more CinSpec updates soonish, as well as Oscar predictions and maybe some lists and brief "reviews." Anyways, I want to post more often, so I'll try to do that. See you soon.

Note: These updates are based on original theatrical release, so previously nominated films like The Wonders, Phoenix, Maps to the Stars, Clouds of Sils Maria, The Water Diviner, Black Sea, and When Marnie Was There are moving to 2014 for consideration.

I still need to see films like Mustang, Arabian Nights, Taxi, Boy and the World, The Forbidden Room, By the Sea, In Jackson Heights, Good Kill, Welcome to Me, Jimmy’s Hall, Buzzard, Our Brand is Crisis, Freeheld, The Summer of Sangaile, Manglehorn, Experimenter, and Pawn Sacrifice.

  1. Glad to see you here! You have to see Mustang that's such a great film.

Thank you for putting Rooney in the category she belongs. Love that you had Attah too, he was robbed. I love the Lost River song you chose too!

  4. Glad to see you put another one of these out. Love the nod for Spike Lee. Chi-Raq is so unconventional in execution and as such is a really polarizing film. We match on a couple winners and a number of noms. My 2015 awards...

    1. Oh wow! I really need to see Mustang. It's one of those I wanted to watch and then never did.

I love the risk Spike Lee took with Chi-Raq. Overall, I think it's a bold film that deserves more recognition. Happy to nominate him this year.

  6. Love this. Man, I would've loved for Mara to win something for Carol. When that movie first dropped, I thought she would have a better chance for Supporting Actress. Such a shame that she didn't.

    1. Thanks! I'm so conflicted there. Mara gave the performance of the year, but Vikander had an amazing 2015. I love that Alicia won an Oscar, but I would've voted for Rooney.
