September Oscar Predictions

Could Spotlight be this year's Argo?

Since last month's predictions, there has been great early word on Spotlight and Brooklyn, so I've added them in major categories. Also, Oliver Stone's Snowden has moved to 2016, but I wasn't predicting it anyways. 1. For some reason I'm not that excited about the those best picture contenders this year, they don't look like films i would rush out to see(I loved Inside Out). For me it's films from the other categories I have a bigger interest in: Sicario, Spectre, Hateful Eight and Star Wars. You think Crimson Peak will be overlooked?

    1. There a few I'm really looking forward to, but I wonder how many will actually make my ballot. Out of the Best Picture contenders, I'd say maybe Carol, Inside Out, and The Revenant, but who knows.

Crimson Peak looks well-crafted, though I'm not sure the Academy will find room for it. Still, the art directors and costume branches could nominate it.

  3. I'm super excited that Brooklyn will be playing at TCFF next month. Wish that's the case for Spotlight too, which looks really good and has a terrific cast!

    1. Oh, I'm looking forward to both of those. I'd love to see Saoirse Ronan and Michael Keaton get their second Oscar noms.
