  1. 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' is for me, the quintessential Christmas song. I love it so much, and the movie is fantastic too. I've heard most of these, but it was great finding new Christmas songs! If I were to make a list like this, I'd have included Santa Baby, because that is just so good.

    1. I love Meet Me in St. Louis too, and Judy Garland's version of that song is iconic. Ooh, Santa Baby is a fun song.

  2. I like all the songs on that list but..... No Bing/David Bowie? Band-Aid? "I Am Santa Claus" parody of Black Sabbath's "Iron Man"? Elton John's "Step Into Christmas"? Hall & Oates' "Jingle Bell Rock"? Where's Eric Idle's "Fuck Christmas"?

    1. Ha, there were dozens of songs I left out... One of the problems of only choosing ten.

  3. There's so many great Christmas songs it's hard to narrow down after the first few, the entire Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas album could fill my list!, but these would be my top ten:

    1. Silver Bells-Doris Day
    2. The White Snows of Winter-The Kingston Trio
    3. Mele Kalikimaka-Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters
    4. I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day-Kate Smith
    5. Do You Hear What I Hear?-Bing Crosby
    6. Greensleeves-Orchestral
    7. O Little Town of Bethlehem-Barbra Streisand
    8. The Christmas Song-Nat King Cole
    9. Christmas in Killarney-Bing Crosby
    10. Somerset Gloucestershire Wassail-The Kingston Trio

I love White Christmas and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and Judy in general, but they'd be just below my top group.

I also love "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" by Andy Williams I just wish they wouldn't play it in such heavy rotation that by the time Christmas gets here I'm sick of it.

    Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

    1. Thanks, Joel! Hope you had a great Christmas.

Love that list, and it's nice to see Bing get a few spots. I like the Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas album as well, but I don't listen to it as much as the songs I listed. I agree "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" is overplayed. It just missed my list.
