  1. Again, great month at the movies!

But, why is Un Coeur en Hiver listed in your top ten, when The Crying Game was your winner that year, and was rewatched this month?

    1. Thanks! Oh, I only rank films I haven't seen before, so they're the best new-to-me films. All rewatches just go in the rewatched section.

  2. I saw Sweet Sixteen years ago, and I was quite taken with it. The story and characters felt quite real to me.

    1. Glad you liked it! It was very close to making my top 5 of 2002. Martin Compston was just too good to snub in Best Actor, though.

  3. I'm always amazed at the number of movies you watch in one month. I'm generally in the range of 1/3 to 1/2 your totals. Glad you took in Das Boot. That's a phenomenal picture. I'm also curious about your thoughts on Cat People. i like it, but in an ironic sort of way, as in it's so breathtakingly bad that I love it.

BTW, I've passed a baton on to you...

    1. I'm been cramming in loads of movies for my CinSpec Awards for over a year. Once I finish posting them (1930-present) later this year, I'm going to scale back a little and focus more on the blog (and making images for my old CinSpec posts, of course).

Yeah, Cat People is good in a guilty pleasure sort of way for me. I love the cinematography and the music!

Thanks for passing me the baton!

  4. SO happy Roger Dodger gets 4 stars from you. I sing that film's praises as often as I can. I love what Campbell Scott did with that character.

    1. Man, I LOVED Roger Dodger! Scott is a close runner-up for Best Actor, and the film easily would've landed several CinSpec nods - instead of only 2 - in a weaker year.
