Favorite Movie Titles Blogathon

Brittani at Rambling Film is doing her first blogathon, and it's a brilliant idea. Here are the rules:
1) Going through the alphabet, list your favorite movie title beginning with each letter.
2) You don't have to necessarily like the movie to use its title.
3) Use the banner at the top of this post in yours.
4) Please have submissions in by Friday, May 23rd. (But I'll be honest, if you send them to me after that date, I'll still add them to my post.)
Note: I tried to avoid literary titles, since they already existed before they were turned into films.

  1. I was intending on avoiding literary titles too, but then decided to hell with it!

And where is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? Like...HELLO!!!!

LOL, these are great though. I love these varied lists.

    1. Thanks man! Haha, I LOVE Eternal Sunshine's title, but I was also trying to mix it up, since I figured it would be a popular choice.

    1. Thanks! It was fun participating. Yeah, you should rewatch Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. It's so good!

  4. What an eclectic collection, but I expect nothing less from you Josh! Oh you've seen Romance & Cigarettes! I saw that at TIFF and though it was too dirty for a morning screening (as John Turturro said himself when he introduced the movie), I enjoyed it. Boy Winslet's performance was quite something, I never saw her being so vulgar! Walken's great in it as well.

    1. Thanks Ruth! Haha, Romance & Cigarettes is different, for sure. I really enjoyed most of the performances in it, though.

  5. Of course we have like 4 in common, ha, that's awesome! You kind of went with long, more story-based titles where possible, which is exactly what I did. Upstream Color... man, how perfect a description.

    1. That's great! I tried to stay away from some titles that I knew would be popular, like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Yeah, I guess those kinds of titles are more memorable to me. Upstream Color really is a fantastic title. Love it!

  7. Love inclusions of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Before the Devil knows You are Dead. Not only these are awesome movies but these titles are so apt. If I take part as well, possibility is growing every minute, I'll include these two for sure. :)

  8. I didn't give much thought to whether I used literary titles or not, but I did find myself often trying to omit titles that started with "The" or similar words. I don't think we got any of the same choices here.

I certainly haven't seen most of these, but A Fish Called Wanda is a great title (and a hilarious movie) as is Once Upon a Time in America. I haven't seen Shadow of a Doubt but the title itself sounds very appropriate given it looks like a very grim film noir.

    1. I love those titles so much. Most of these films I'd recommend, except for ones like John Tucker Must Die and xXx (unless you're in the mood for a cheesy action movie).
