Top 10 Older Films I Saw in 2017

The Dead Zone (1983)

Happy New Year! Hopefully, this will be the start of more blogging. I'm sure I'll post more than 10 times this year, and I'll try to stop by your blogs. Last year I rewatched a lot of movies. More than usual. I could barely make this list actually, since I didn't watch many first-timers that weren't from 2016 or 2017. But I did manage to watch 180 films last year at least.

Note: I'm not counting 2016 leftovers I watched early in the year.

10. Reign of Fire (2002)

9. The Dead Zone (1983)

8. K-19: The Widowmaker (2002)

7. Slap Shot (1977)

6. Crimson Tide (1995)

5. Eve's Bayou (1997)

4. Ulee's Gold (1997)

3. El Dorado (1967)

2. Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974)

1. She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949)

  1. You better post more, I needs me fix! I just rewatched Crimson Peak te other day. Not bad on its own but pathetic by Del Toro standards.

    1. Haha, thanks. I like Crimson Peak, but I've not seen it since it first came out.

  2. Yay, Eve's Bayou!!! I actually haven't seen much of that top 10. Somehow Crimson Tide is the only other movie I've seen from it. I need to get on some of those. Conversely, I've seen all of your top 10 rewatches except Rio Bravo and all of them are excellent. Almost. I like Juno, but don't love it the way others do.

    1. Eve's Bayou is SO good! Hope you check some of these out. Juno floored me this time around. I've seen it a few times, but it finally clicked with me. Big fan of it now.

  3. The only one of these I've seen is Reign of Fire and I don't remember much from it. I own it, I'll have to give that one a shot again.

    1. I enjoyed it so much. A guilty pleasure, for sure. McConaughey owns it.

  4. Great picks. Hmm, I haven't seen She Wore a Yellow Ribbon. I gotta check that one out. Crimson Tide is a flick I enjoy more every time I revisit it.

    1. Thanks, I need to watch more old films this year. John Wayne's performance in She Wore a Yellow Ribbon is up there with The Searchers and The Shootist for me. Love that film. Crimson Tide is great, too. Washington and Hackman. 'Nuff said.
