I just listened to both for the first time recently, and It's Blitz! is SO good. I liked Battle Studies, too, but the Pop field is really weak this year. :/
What I love so much about this is that there are so many awesome nominees here that I don't think will make the cut at the Mouthis, so I love that the wealth was spread here. Like, your AOTY lineup is AMAZING and yet...I think the only album with a shot at a Mouthi nom is Tegan and Sara...but it's tight.
LOVE seeing Bat for Lashes show up, as well as Mos Def and Carey in for Angel's Cry and Muse and La Roux!!! Love her debut so much! This year is so much about Florence for me...such a great debut act. Obsessed with this album.
But I have to ask...how do Tegan and Sara win AOTY and lose Alt Album? Like...What? I mean, spread the wealth I guess, but dude...
I LOVE the songs from Bat for Lashes, Carey, and Muse. I almost gave "Uprising" the Rock Performance win, but "Northshore" is just too catchy. Ugh, La Roux is amazing, and I was hooked on Mos Def's album, which feels very underrated, from the outset. Florence is great, though I slightly prefer Ceremonials to Lungs.
Oops! I was toying with an AOTY/Alt Album split, but that's a mistake. Fixed it. ;)
LOL, I threw The Black Eyed Peas in Pop because it's SUCH a weak field.

It's Blitz! That's a great album. I know John Mayer is a weird dude but I really liked Battle Studies.
