  4. Everywhere I look people are praising Mommy. Needless to say, I'll be watching that shortly after it hits Netflix. Glad to see you enjoyed both Bad Boys movies. I'm not at all a Michael Bay, but did really like this franchise. I think the second one, in particular, gets a bad wrap and is much better than most people say.

    1. Yeah, I hadn't seen Bad Boys in over a decade, but I really enjoyed both of them. I wouldn't mind seeing a third one. Hope you like Mommy!

  5. The Legend of 1900 is such an interesting oddity with a super performance by Tim Roth.

I liked Mansfield Park a little more than you and Nowhere Boy a bit less.

    1. Yeah, Tim Roth was terrific, and I really enjoyed the film.

Mansfield Park is the better film, so no argument from me. :)

  6. What an eclectic viewing Josh! Oh this reminds me I still need to see Leviathan! The trailer looks quite gripping.

I LOVE Mansfield Park, glad you saw that and I think a B grade from you is till pretty good. It's quite a bold adaptation for an Austen film but I adore Frances O'Connor in the role of Fanny. I think Nowhere Boy is ok, I love it mostly for Aaron Johnson's performance.

    1. Oh, Leviathan is great. It's now my #7 film of 2014. :)

I really enjoyed Mansfield Park, but the first half was a bit slow. Nowhere Boy was nothing special, though I did like it.

  7. I liked Leviathan, but I didn't love it. I think I may be swept away with "Mommy" even more on a second screening, I was kind of tired for my first watch. You and Fisti seem to have a very similar taste in film!

    1. Leviathan and Winter Sleep were very close to cracking my 2014 Best Picture lineup, but I couldn't decide where to put them, so they're just outside of my top 5. Mommy is a #1 film that Fisti and I agree on, but keep in mind that the last film we both give Best Picture is Children of Men, which is almost ten years ago. :)
