2009 CinSpec Awards Updated

Inglourious Basterds leads with 7 nominations.

Although I'm still not done with 2010, I've updated my 2009 ballot with images for every category. I'm also watching a few more films for an images update on 1999's ballot next week, and I should be posting 2010's soon as well. You can check out the '09 images on my original post, but here's a preview. (click to enlarge)

Again, you can find the rest here.

  3. Oh, Colin Firth in A Single Man breaks my heart everytime.

I've heard a lot of good things about Summer Hours, but the only Assayas I've seen is Clouds of Sils Maria. How good is Summer Hours?

    1. Firth is wonderful in that film. In retrospect, I'm surprised he actually got nominated for a role like that, though.

I LOVE Summer Hours, which is a sweet little movie with a solid cast. It's one that moves in and out of my top 100 of all time, depending on my mood. :) Can't wait to see Clouds of Sils Maria!

  4. I love Colin Firth so much as an actor in general and in A Single Man in particular, he's super in The King's Speech but he has the hook of the stutter to hang the performance on where as Single Man is all internalized. If it wasn't for Cristian Mercado in Undertow he would be my choice without question.

    1. I still need to see Undertow, but Firth is much better in A Single Man than in The King's Speech. I like his performance in the latter film, though I wouldn't consider it awards-worthy.

  5. I still need to see Two Lovers, been meaning to see that for ages. Mulligan was indeed terrific in An Education!

    1. Oh, you really need to see Two Lovers, Ruth! Gwyneth Paltrow and Vinessa Shaw are great in that film as well. :) Yay! Another Mulligan fan!

  6. Firth is such a revelation in A Single Man. Would've loved if he and Jeff Bridges swapped years for their Oscar wins.

    1. Firth deserved to win, no doubt. I am happy that Bridges finally won an Oscar, though.
