87th Oscar Winners Announced

Birdman took home 4 awards, including Best Picture.

A close race proved predictable again for Hollywood's big night. There weren't many surprises, unless you predicted Boyhood would win Best Picture and/or Best Director. Birdman's triumph seems rather odd, but it wasn't a normal awards season by any means.

In all, I predicted 21/24 categories correctly, missing only Best Animated Feature Film (predicted How to Train Your Dragon 2), Best Sound Mixing (predicted Birdman), and Best Documentary Short Film (predicted Joanna). This is the best I've done since 2007, if I'm not mistaken, so there's something else to celebrate.

If you haven't seen the winners by now, take a look below.

  3. WOW!! You only got three wrong? Well done Josh! Hurray for Birdman, I really did not see that coming. I thought it'd be a split that Inarritu gets Best Director & Boyhood wins BP, but I'm super happy w/ this result! If only Keaton got one too :(

    1. Thanks Ruth! Yeah, Birdman is such a strange choice for Oscar voters. I wish I'd been wrong about Keaton losing. :(
