    1. I'd love for Newman, Russell, and Deakins to finally win. They're a combined 0/37, after all.

  4. Oh I had no idea no Bond songs ever won an Oscar! That's crazy.

    1. I know, right? You'd think songs like "Goldfinger" or "Live and Let Die" would've won.

  5. What an enlightening post, Josh, thanks for this. I didn't know about most of these. I think DDL is a shoo-in winner from the look of it, and WOW that Greg P. Russell is the Susan Lucci of Oscar, I thought it was Roger Deakins w/ 10 noms.

    1. Thanks Ruth! Glad you liked it. Don't know if you saw my tweet, but the sound mixer Kevin O'Connell holds the record - 0/20 at the Oscars!

  6. Excellent post! After 16 nominations, I do hope Russell wins for Best Sound Mixing. I finally saw Skyfall the other night. I fell asleep at the end of the movie. Ha ha. No reflection on the film -- I've just been uber tired lately. But seriously, who falls asleep during the climax of an action movie?

  8. Great little tidbits - I just love stuff like this.

Except: a tribute to modern movie musicals? Oh geez, that's a bathroom break for me right there. Ha.

    1. Thanks. I left out Deakins, but that's a popular stat, like DDL.

A bathroom break for that is okay. But the Bond tribute should be interesting.
