  1. Great to see Edward Scissorhands, "I Don't wanna miss a thing" and Braveheart here. 90's was filled with great movie music.

    1. Yeah, there were a lot to choose from. Ooh, glad you like Braveheart's score. :)

  2. Great choices! I'd forgotten the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack. Quirky and haunting ... it couldn't sound more Tim Burton. :-) I love "Save Me" and "Fargo." Also, while I am no fan of Braveheart, the music ("Freedom") is really cool.

    1. Thanks! Edward Scissorhands' score slipped my mind too. I'm just glad I could reward Elfman here.

I like Braveheart, but I was surprised to give it a win here.

  3. I love your Oscar trivia in these music post, Josh. I actually love Dances with Wolves soundtrack even though I haven't seen the film but I'm shocked that The Last of the Mohicans wasn't even nominated!

    1. Thanks, Ruth. I have to give Alex (And So it Begins...) credit for the Oscar trivia though. He suggested it, so I've included it for comparison.

      I know, right?

  4. Scissorhands! Elfman’s music is so good there. Same with Burwell’s haunting score for Fargo. Can’t believe neither of those were nominated.

And Zimmer’s work for The Thin Red Line represents one of my favorite film scores of all time. I listen to it often. Solid choices!

    1. At least Elfman's been nominated. Still waiting on Burwell's first nod.

Thanks man! Completely agree on The Thin Red Line. One of my faves.
