Final Oscar Predictions

If Green Book wins Best Picture, at least Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't.

At the end of a crazy awards season, I'm left thinking there won't be many surprises when the Academy Award winners are announced in a couple of days. I could see A Star is Born getting a big win or Olivia Colman/Rachel Weisz getting a win for The Favourite. Maybe Ready Player One wins Best Visual Effects, or Cold War shocks in Best Cinematography or even Best Foreign Language Film, especially if Roma wins Best Picture. But one surprise I'm actually predicting is Incredibles 2 winning Best Animated Feature Film. I just find it hard to believe that a Disney bias won't push it across the finish line, like Brave and Big Hero 6 in the past. (I hope Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse wins.) Anyways, good luck everyone. Fingers crossed for a decent show with some surprises in store.

  1. All I care about is that Roma takes all, because a) Cuaron, and b) being the first foreign language film to take Best Picture AND be in black and white AND be about a woman AND star non-actors AND be so personal and so passionate AND be such a subtle piece of work...I mean, there are so many ways that this win will mean so much.

But, it'll probably lose to Green Book...

  2. Good predictions! According to Goldderby, the close races seem to be in Score,Costume Design, Production Design, & Sound Editing. The acting categories look predicable as I type(hours before the show)
