Robyn co-leads with 5 noms.

Here are my music awards for 2010. I've already done 2009, so I'll start working on 2008 soon.

  1. There's lots of great artists here! It's strange for me to think of the Sleigh Bells having their debut album in 2010 because I feel like they've been around for much longer.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, it's hard to believe Sleigh Bells' debut was only six years ago.

  2. OMG, so much YASSSSS here.

First, Kanye, Robyn, Arcade Fire, Sleigh Bells in AOTY...YES PLEASE!!! I haven't listened to Joanna Newsom's album so I'll have to check that out. Did you get to Yeasayer's album, Odd Blood?

I also apparently need to listen to Fences. Never heard of them (him)!

LOVE seeing Mumford and Sons, Flying Lotus, the bird and the bee and f***ing Kate Nash pop up!!!

    1. YAY! :)

      Yes, check out Newsom's album!

I'm glad I I revisited The Suburbs, which actually didn't even make my Alternative Album lineup at one point. Yeah, Odd Blood might've made my Alt lineup with 10 nominees, but those categories are usually loaded.

I discovered Fences by complete accident, and his debut is great. He's got a very Elliot Smith sound.

Haha, knew you'd love some of those. My Pop Duo/Group Perf lineup is probably my favorite one I've done so far.

  3. Great stuff. MBDTF is still my favorite Kanye album. And I just learned that "A Real Hero" was written about Sully after he landed the plane on the Hudson. Did you know that?!

    1. Thanks man! Yeah, MBDTF is one of my all-time faves. I'd heard that about "A Real Hero", and it's fascinating.

  4. A great album by Kanye West. I've recently been listening to his 2007 album Graduation which is very good too.
Great to see the love for Newsom's music, which you know is in my best of the 2010s top 10. The first hour of her album "Have One On Me" is masterful.

    1. I doubt Kanye ever tops MBDTF. I like Graduation less than I used to, but I'm still very much a fan. (It doesn't make my 2007 Album of the Year lineup anymore.)

Newsom's album was beautiful! I hadn't listened to it until recently. When I update my top 100 albums list, it'll be on there.
