2014 SoundSpec Awards

FKA twigs co-leads with 5 noms.

I haven't been watching many movies lately, but I've started working on more ballots for my music awards. Before I post anything new, I'm updating 2012-2014 with new categories (Best Urban Contemporary Album and Song) and some minor changes. Check out my updated ballot below.

  1. LOVE!!!

Despite the fact that Azealia Banks is a mess and a pretty terrible person, her debut album is just incredible, so I'm so happy to see her nom'd! Love the inclusion of the new categories. Can't wait to see the rest fill in.

    1. Thanks buddy! Yeah, Banks' album is amazing, regardless of her behavior. She would've made my Best New Artist lineup, but I've got her eligible in 2012 for her mixtape.

  2. Great to see albums by Jack White, War on Drugs, D'Angelo & Beck get mentions! Those are high on my 2014 list.
Jessie Ware's album has grown on me a lot with repeat listens, while St. Vincent's is no longer as fresh and dropped down my list
Lost in the Dream by The War on Drugs remains my #1 of the year, although Ware's album is a close #2!

    1. So glad Jessie Ware's album has held up for you! It's moved up to #2 or #3 (with Trouble in Paradise) for me. I still love St. Vincent's album, but I keep forgetting how much I do. :/
